Lucky 13 - Celebrating our Successes
We're turning the number 13 into good luck for those who attend the 13th Annual Solo and Small Firm Conference being held on June 12, 13, and 14, 2008 at Tan-Tar-A Resort (www.tan-tar-a.com) at Osage Beach, MO.
Good luck charms of all sorts will be on hand to whisk away any traces of
triskaidekaphobia and turn this 13-laden conference into a successful venture
for your practice. It will be your good fortune to get away from your practice
for a few days with your family in a resort area where you can earn all your
MCLE credits for the year by choosing from a variety of interesting educational
programs, network with other solo and small firm lawyers from all over the
state, relax, and have a great time all for a bargain price that is tax
deductible. You’ll also be able to earn all your ethics credits needed for this
reporting year.
This nationally award-winning event will, once again, feature over 70
different educational programs, discussion groups, and computer labs to
choose from presented by national experts and some by our own veteran speakers.
An expanded trial college and boot camp on starting a law practice will
round out the program schedule. Be sure to stroll through the exhibit hall to
explore products and services of interest for one-stop shopping.
Jack Marshall from ProEthics will
present one of the most interesting and entertaining ethics programs that
you’ve ever attended at the plenary session on Friday morning. This program
features rock parodies performed on acoustic guitar, thus
Ethics Rock!
On Saturday morning, Rex Havens,
a former lawyer, now professional comedian, will make you laugh until
your side hurts. Invite your spouse or guest to attend with you. This will
surely be something you’ll talk about on the drive home!
Dr. Michael
Freeman, Ph.D. ,M.P.H., D.C, Forensic Epidemiologist, will bring his
expert advice on personal injury matters to the conference. Law Practice
Management consultants,
Ellen Freedman and Nerino Petro,
will be on hand to share their expertise as well as
Ross Kodner, a popular
favorite technology consultant who will make a return visit to this
event. Roy Ginsburg, attorney-coach,
will bring his expertise to the event through some very interesting and
informative programming.
That’s enough about work – there’s plenty of time for fun and relaxation. Try
your luck on the golf course by joining a group on Tan-Tar-A’s beautiful golf
course. Rumor has it the 13th hole is the luckiest spot on the golf course. Take
a relaxing cruise on the Lake of the Ozarks and spend Thursday evening with your
colleagues, family, or guest at the “Summer Salsa” reception and dinner. On
Friday, June 13 following dinner, we’re featuring Las Vegas night in the Lucky
13 Casino as well as the Las Vegas-style entertainment of Rick Vickers in his
tribute to Elvis. If you’d rather make your own luck by spending time with your
family on your own, Tan-Tar-A offers a wide variety of amenities for all ages.
So, throw away any old superstitions and come to gather up lots of good luck
with other solo and small firm lawyers by attending this event that will provide
helpful information to take home and put to work in your practice. And, if you
sign up early, you’ll save even more. Every year thousands of dollars of prizes
are offered to some very lucky attendees. This year you could win a 7-day
all-inclusive trip for two to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. So, bring your lucky
horseshoes and four-leaf clovers for extra luck and take home one of the many
nice prizes that will be given away. We’ll see you there!
